Lewis Lake Campground

The Location

Lewis Lake Campground is located about 8 miles north of the south entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is situated on the southeastern shore of Lewis Lake and is the most secluded campground in the park. If you are planning on visiting the Grand Teton National Park or Jackson Hole During your visit this is the perfect campground.

The Area

Grant Village is about 9 miles north of Lewis Lake Campground. In Grant Village, you will find a service station that offers fuel, propane and mechanical repair services. There are also a couple of restaurants, a lounge, a gift store and a general store with groceries and other supplies. Lewis Lake is the main attraction in this area where you can enjoy boating and some excellent fishing. The terrain surrounding Lewis Lake Campground is heavily forested and very rugged.

The Campground

Lewis Lake Campground is open from June 15, 2018, until November 4, 2018. It has 85 campsites and all sites are on a first-come, first-served basis. Lewis Lake Campground is situated in a beautiful lodgepole pine forest. A boat launch is very close by so you can easily get on a boat and do some fishing. A Yellowstone National Park fishing permit is necessary to fish in Lewis Lake. Each campsite has a fire pit with grate and a picnic table. Food storage containers are available to keep the wildlife away from your food and are 22″ by 22″ by 48″. The restrooms are vault toilets and drinkable water is available. In the late fall, drinking water may be limited if the temperatures are freezing. If you are camping in the fall plan to bring your own water and if you use lake water it must be boiled or purified. RV Guests

Lewis Lake Campground can accomodate RVs up to 25 feet long with limited pull through sites. There are no utility hook-ups at this campground and there is no dump station. Generators are not allowed.
