The Hotel

The Lake Hotel opened in 1891 and is the oldest operating hotel in the park. Located on the shore of Yellowstone Lake the Lake Hotel has undergone many renovations over the years. The first renovations were in 1903 by Robert Reamer, the man who designed the Old Faithful Inn. The latest renovation was in 2014 when it underwent a 28 million overhaul. The remodel of Lake Hotel covered all guest rooms, public spaces, the restaurant, a new deli, and lounge. In addition, they added wired internet throughout and a new business center with free internet and printers. A new cell tower was also added to the Lake area greatly improving mobile phone service. The Lake Yellowstone Hotel Dining Room menu is upscale and creative with a focus on sustainable cuisine. During breakfast, take advantage of the Breakfast Buffet for an all you can eat option. The lunch menu has soups, salads, burgers and other specialty plates. On the dinner menu, you will find dishes like Duck and Wild Mushroom Risotto, Poached Pear Salad, Bison Tenderloin and Montana Elk Chops. Dinner reservations are required and can be made by calling 307.344.7311 or online by using the Online Request Form. Breakfast and lunch are served on a first-come, first-served basis. The dress code is casual and a children’s menu is available for all meals.

For those looking for a quick meal and a great value there is the Lake Lodge Cafeteria. The Lake Lodge Cafeteria is a quick service restaurant serving sandwiches, salads, wraps, rice bowls and other delicious meals. They also have the best juicy prime rib, carved to order, in the park! Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on a first come first served basis, it is a great place to grab a bite on the go.
